Every cryptoasset network can be judged on different measures or metrics of success. This varies depending on its use case, market fit, and general overall goals of the network. At Etherbridge we use the following metrics to determine the general health of both the Bitcoin and Ethereum network on a week-to-week basis. They are also used to understand the adoption and growth of the network, something that is extremely important to the longevity of new technologies. Big movements of any metric in either direction may not signal anything significant on a short-term basis but tracking them over the long-term is essential in understanding the networks progress over time.
Price ($) — Asset’s price in USD
Market Capitalisation ($) — The market capitalization (or network value) is defined as the product of the current supply by the current USD price.
Daily Active Users — The number of unique addresses that were active in the network either as a sender or receiver. Only addresses that were active in successful transactions are counted.
New Addresses — The number of unique addresses that appeared for the first time in a transaction of the native coin in the network.
Transaction Volume ($) — The total amount of coins (USD Value) transferred on-chain. Only successful transfers are counted.
Transaction Count — The total amount of transactions. Only successful transactions are counted.
Addresses >1k BTC — The number of unique addresses holding at least 1000 coins.
Addresses >0,1 BTC — The number of unique addresses holding at least 0.1 coins.
Addresses >10k ETH— The number of unique addresses holding at least 10 000 coins.
Addresses >1 ETH— The number of unique addresses holding at least 1 coin.
Hash Rate (TH/s) — The average estimated number of hashes per second produced by the miners in the network. This is the total amount of computational power that has been contributed to secure a network against attacks. Increases in hash rates do imply greater security.
Miner Revenue ($) — The total miner revenue (USD Value), i.e. fees plus newly minted coins.
